Bangladesh T20 Premier League is a professional Twenty20 cricket league in Bangladesh, based on the format of the Indian Premier League. The first edition of the tournament will start on 10 February 2012 with six franchises consisting of players from around the world. The inaugural season of the tournament will start on 9 February on 2012 with an opening ceremony with the first match to start on 10 February 2012 and will finish with the final on 29 February 2012. There will be 33 number of games will be played in 2012. Each team will play each team twice, both at home and away in a round robin system. Total 6 teams will participate in BPL 2012 and the top 4 teams will reach the next round of Semi-Finals which will also be a Knockout stage. What is interesting about this year’s BPL is that there will be 6 teams participating in the mega event and it will be interesting to see who comes up top and win this T20 Tournament because the winner of this tournament will qualify for the Champions League Twenty20.
